The main advice I have for incoming GSIS students is that you got to brush up on your history and current events. Start reading and writing more, so you can begin to enjoy it. And do NOT procrastinate, it could cost you your grade. This major is a lot of fun, and there is a little something for everyone. Personally, I love psychology the most.

When love turns into Obsession…

I know many people have a favorite animal, and many share penguins as that favorite animal, but I LOVE penguins. Some may say I am even obsessed due to my huge collection of Penguins. I thought it would be fun to do a blog on my collection and share all my penguins with you guys. I took a lot of pictures, but I forgot a few of my other penguins! 🙁

Let me first introduce my collection of stuffed animal penguins! I bought three at a garage sale (of course I washed them) and I was given the big one for my birthday and one of them is actually a penguins bank :)

There is my penguin shower curtain and the black and white towels! (there were no penguin towels anywhere! I have searched a lot, trust me)

My penguin ear rings! I am actually missing my jeweled penguin ear rings, they are really pretty and a lot fancier. You may be able to see the panda and monkey ear rings...I only got those because there was a deal for "buy two, get one free" and the last penguins available were the ones a part of the monkey and panda ear rings.

Those are all the pictures I took, but I am still missing my penguins puzzle, shoes, book cover, Christmas ornament, and mini snow globe. 🙂

So you may think I am obsessed, but I don’t mind. I love them a lot- I think they are the cutest of all and I would love to go to Antarctica to see them.

What Crazy Weather!!!

I know I’m writing this after all the snow days, but I busy trying to carefully drive through it on those days! Since I’m a California girl, I’m not used to the snow, I still act and look like a child when I see it! I have only seen it fall once for a couple seconds and only been in it a handful of times- so for me, this was AMAZING! I live in Prescott Valley so I did not get hit as hard, but it was still oh so beautiful!<3

These pictures were taken last Wednesday and Thursday. I couldn’t get pictures on Friday because I was driving down to Phoenix during the huge storm!! It was pretty scary to drive with all the snow and then as I got down the mountain, it became heavy rain! So, it was a crazy experience and good thing I’m a live! 🙂

Part of me is happy the storm is done, but I do still love snow and definitely enjoy snow days! 😀

Starting back at school…

Well, it’s time to start school again…that means homework! 🙁  Which I got homework from every class one the first day! But I’m not complaining too much right now because I only have school Tuesdays and Thursdays. I also only have 4 classes this term instead of 5, like last term. I have Advanced computers, where we are learning how to use Dream-Weaver and how to create websites. Then I have Psychology 101, which is my favorite class! I took Psychology in high school and anatomy, so they went hand-in-hand, but I loved them so much that I thought about getting into psychology or biology. So for now I am taking the first level of psychology, but I want to take the advanced course to. I am thinking about minoring in it. 🙂 Next, I have humanities. I thought I was going to be doing the Beatles theme, but our teacher decided to try something new for the first time, and only on our section!!! Of course I get bad luck like that!!!! My last class is only on Tuesdays, it’s Public Administration with Sabotta. It seems pretty confusing so far, but I know she is very helpful, so I am not worried anymore. Yeah, so that’s my schedule. Sounds simple enough, but I went through a lot of hassle to get this schedule!

I originally was going to take an astronomy class, and I was scheduled for it, and it sadly overlapped Macroeconomics, which is another class I really wanted to take, so I could not take it this term. I have always loved astronomy and wanted to be an astronaut ever since I was little, but my eyesight will stop me from getting into that field, which is why I want to become a pilot and hopefully a manager at an airport someday. Anyways, at the beginning of this year I saw that ERAU messed up with the Astronomy time and it ended up being only on Thursdays and late at night. (Makes sense that it’s at night, but since it showed 8am when I was signing for classes, I could not take Macro) If that wasn’t enough to damper my day, I got an e-mail from the astronomy teacher saying I cannot take his class since I didn’t have the prerequisite Physics class. So, now I was stuck with only 3 classes…Psych, Humanities, and Computers- and I need to be full time (12 credits) for my scholarships, so I freaked out. Well Diane Kelm helped me out within a day and got me into Public Administration, so now everything is settled! 🙂  And I get my excess money from my scholarships on Friday, so I am real happy about that! I have so many different expenses I need to take care of. Well, I enjoy my classes, even though I have homework every time I go. lol. But I guess it could be worse, right? Hope everyone else is doing okay now that we are all back. It always sucks to have to leave vacation, but I’m getting back into the swing of everything. Take care everyone and careful out there, everything is slippery!

Winter Break

Wow, I must say it took a lot of initiative to even get on here during my time off. lol. I have been so busy, so anytime there is free time is usually means complete relaxation! I hope everyone had been having an amazing break, I know mine is going pretty well.

There is so much to catch up with. Let’s start from final exam days… I studied very hard for each class and I had three exams on a Saturday and then my last exam was the following Monday, so I started break early! And I had my other exam just on the last day of class since our teacher was very cool. 🙂   I ended up getting 3 A’s and 2 B’s. I received an A in speech, Business 201, and Computers. A B in Microeconomics and Business 102. I ended up getting a 3.6 GPA and making Dean’s List 😀 I was so happy and my grandmother was estatic!!! (My grandma has taken care of me since I was too, so she is like my mother).

After finals, I went down to Phoenix area to my Boyfriend’s and his family’s house. We hung around a lot out here, but the week of Christmas we took a road trip to California to see all of my friends (and now Wyatt’s friends) and to spend time with my family and my Grandma. We hung out in Palm Springs area with my friend Philip. We spent the night there for two nights and both days were packed with get together and a birthday party. It worked out great because we ended up seeing almost all of my friends! Since my grandmother moved the beginning of December we had to drive an hour north- to Fontana, to see her new house where she now lives with my uncle and his wife. They have a beautiful two-story house and they live in a nice neighborhood. My grandma is very happy that all her favorite stores are only about 10 minutes away from her. We stayed one night at her house and just visited with her. My sister stopped by and got Wyatt a blockbuster gift card and payed for my phone bill. (We have a plan together) Then my grandma and uncle gave us some money. We ended up leaving late Christmas eve in order to get back to Arizona for Christmas with Wyatt’s family.

Christmas morning consisted of gifts, of course. I got $100 American Express Gift Certificate, Penguin car seat, a new outfit, and season of Supernatural. I had a lot of fun and I loved my gifts. Then later we went to christmas party and had a gift exchange. (draw numbers and can either steal a gift of open a new one) I ended up getting a pretty candle set! I also got a lot of candy, but I gave that to my boyfriend since I’m trying to lose weight. lol. There was a lot of food because we all did a pot luck. It was delicious! After the party, we went home and relaxed.

The next week we just hung out with some of Wyatt’s friends and play games, then we came up to Prescott for a weekend so I could get my mail and enjoy some colder weather. 🙂 For New Year’s, we ended up not really doing anything, so that kind of sucked. The rest of the vacation was just relaxing and having no homework! So everything went pretty well. Hope all others breaks were great too!

My Amazing Flight Experience!

So Saturday morning started waaaay too early for a weekend, but I didn’t mind getting up at 5am knowing something awesome was coming up! The night before was completely crazy, since there was NO way for me to sleep. It was if I was a little kid going to Disneyland for the first time! I was so excited for the next day, full with anticipation since it would be a very precious plane full of priceless cargo (My boyfriend, soon to be father-in-law, and me).  I was not too scared though because I knew how much training a pilot goes through and I knew they had soooo many checklists before take-off and I trusted Kevin, Wyatt’s Dad’s friend. I have many pictures to Post, I hope you enjoy. The plane is a Cessna N61455. As some will be able to tell, and if not by look, by the numbers on the side 😉

back-seat flight

It may seem like the back seat could be boring, but it was still completely amazing!!! We could see everything around us and under us. It was a beautiful view. Rob-boyfriend’s dad- was the co-pilot and was doing a great job! I was proud of him! 🙂

There’s my boyfriend’s house!!! Second from left and the group of homes more south. We spot it from the yellow playground and Rob’s two trucks! 🙂

YAY, my turn! I got the best Taxi award and the most aggressive pilot, since I wasn’t afraid of getting in there and trying it out. 😀 It was so much fun and an experience of a lifetime<3

Let’s do it again, soon!!!

There is Kevin-the pilot, and his awesome plane!

That about concludes one of the most awesome experiences ever! Next blog I want to share my Halloween, but I am a bit tired… Night. Take care.

Time Disappears…

I must say, I keep procrastinating or forgetting to get on here. I do enjoy typing, but time seems to fly by. Speaking of flying, Halloween was the best day I have had in a long, long time!

I got to go up in a private plane on Saturday morning with My boyfriend, his dad, and his dad’s friend. It was amazing. I will definitely post up some pictures tomorrow and give more of an update. I also will share our costumes later that night. 😀

So, on this blog I would like to share how time seems to fly by… As I mentioned, I was going to write about Open House- but it is 2 weeks later, so I am not sure how exciting that would be for others. But here I go:

Open House was quite hectic, but real fun. My working buddy was actually a volunteer, when I selfishly worked for money. lol. We worked at an information booth, and got perhaps 2 people. lol. Before the set up, I was actually kid-napped and taken all around campus to find a table for our booth. And guess what?!!! When I was gone, someone else put a table there! What a waste… lol. So, for the 3 hours of sitting, we were entertained through conversation and Eagle radio behind us. The guys in the station were very nice and funny. They made fun of us in order to get us to make requests. So for the last hour we got to listen to our favorite songs! It was pretty awesome.

I enjoyed being there since my boyfriend got to check out the campus and enjoy the open house, and I got to meet  a new friend, who was a girl too! Wow, that never happens at a school with a guy domination!! But she was real cool and all three of us got along.

After work my boyfriend and I went to the dining hall, which sadly the food was not too good that day. I guess there was too little of variety. But I do have to praise the cookies, I swear they were made from heaven! I can still smell and taste them now…mmmmm!!! 😀

So, besides that day of work, my other days just included millions of phone calls! And the time seems to just fly by when you look back at all the days that have already passed. Think about it, we only have about 5 weeks left of school! That is pretty crazy. I am super excited, but kinda nervous for upcoming finals!!! I cannot wait to get new classes though, and get my scholarship money! Spring will soon be here, and this will be a time for everyone to start new! I hope everyone is enjoying their weekends, and I hope we are all planning for an awesome month vacation!!!! I’ll write to you all later! Take care.

School and grades

So, I did tell you guys that I would be back to let you know my grade on Economics test…It just took me a lot longer than planned since I have been so busy! I ended up getting a high B! It’s not an A, but I am still super happy I made it! 🙂   Soon we have another assignment, so hopefully that will help keep my grade up higher!

It’s really weird, I went from loving my business classes and not my Economics, to loving my economics and getting kind of tired in my business classes. I guess I’m starting to feel that it is the same thing over and over again. 🙁   But at least I have A’s in them. I still enjoy my speech class, and I have just about 100% in that class. In my computer class I have a high A too, but that class gets boring as well. 🙁  I do enjoy all my teachers though, and their teaching styles, I just get bored of some of the material because I know it already, or it gets too dry. I’m guessing a lot of people have that problem!!! :p

So, in my speech class we have a group presentation coming up and my group is doing “How to make a gingerbread house” {A haunted house- since Halloween is coming up} It is going to be so much fun!!! Oh and we are making it with graham crackers instead. I think our speech will be very creative because we are going to give the supplies to every group, so all the groups can make a house as we show them how! 🙂 Here’s some example photos of some of the different holiday gingerbread houses…

Don’t they look yummy!!! MMM…I didn’t realize how many different houses and designs one could use! It’s really cool to see all the varieties and have your choice of how ever many different candies you want to decorate you house with. Wow, i sound like Martha Stewart of something, getting all excited about designing! 😛

Well, have an awesome weekend, next blog I’ll probably be discussing how Open house went and how working is going so far. Talk to you all later!

Relief…

Well last time I wrote I was pretty stressed about my Economics Exam, but the morning of the exam I studied my booty off with a group of classmates and with our awesome tutor, Malin! I felt so much better prepared and as soon as I got the exam, I actually knew what I was doing. I felt so relieved!! And when  I finally finished the exam it was as if a huge boulder rolled of my shoulder!!! All this crammed knowledge in my brain finally got to be put down on paper, leaving me a lot more less stressed!!! I feel so good about  the Exam and I finally get to see my score today, I’ll write another blog to tell you the results!!

So this last weekend was great! Not only did we all get Friday off, but it was my Boy’s birthday! So, this weekend we went shopping for food for his weekend meals! And we did crazy shopping for Sunday, since we had a party for him! He loved the gifts I got him and his parents are getting him a new computer. They have to wait until it’s all done being built though, but he is excited for that as well. Oh and him and I made this dessert called “Dirt”- sounds strange for dessert but it’s made with oreos and pudding, and we put Gummy Worms in it for decoration. It came out amazing and we made a huge bowl of it, and all the guys devoured it! 🙂  We also had cake-that I made and Cookies and cream ice cream. So it was a fun a yummy birthday weekend. On Sunday we stayed up until about 2am, so that was pretty cool! (Thank goodness I didn’t have class until 4pm.)

That was wraps up my weekend, but yesterday is a whole new story! Don’t you just hate when you have those days that anything that could go wrong, DOES go wrong!!! Well, yesterday I worked all morning on my speech and when I left to drive to school, half way there I realized I grabbed my wrong bag! The bag I forgot had my eagle card, my disc that I needed to record my speech, my money I needed to pay for my disc! Unluckily, I could not make it back home in time to make it to class on time. So I talked to my teacher and he gave me a new disc, so now I owe him $4, not bad, but still I didn’t want to have to get all these discs for different speeches. lol. But thankfully, my speech went great, I got an A, but when I went to work I didn’t have my card so I couldn’t clock in. It’s not a HUGE deal, but still, it kind of sucks that it just added to everything!!! Well, that about finishes everything new that has happened. I hope you are all having a nice weekend! Take care and I’ll let you know what grade I got for my exam!!

What a weekend!

So my weekend started out on Thursday with a check from Embry-Riddle work. I got 116, which isn’t much but it came in perfect timing! My boyfriend’s birthday is Sunday, so I had to do some shopping. I ended up spending about $80 on him. I wish I could spend more, but money for gas to come see him is $20 as well. 🙁  But anyways, I came down to Surprise to see my  boyfriend and his family this weekend and I actually went down early to surprise him, but funny thing is they were out of town because they thought I would be there later! lol. So I had to go shopping until they got back in town. I ended up buying all the gifts for my boyfriend and the next day when he was at school I put it together. It looks amazing! I bought a cool looking bag and I bought lots of tissue paper to make it look fancy! I bought him two games, on for X-box (Assassin’s Creed) and another for Wii (Pikmin) since I hear him talk about these games all the time. I also got basic necessities that he always complains about not having enough of-Socks and underwear. hehe. I got him a sweet card and I filled his bag with lots of candy and his favorite- nutter butters! 😀   Let me know how you think of my birthday gift! 🙂

Anyways, next weekend we will be having his friends over on Saturday and then Sunday we will have family time. He is very excited for his birthday since it is also his fall break! He gets Friday and Monday off, so it is an extra long birthday weekend gift! I think that would be my favorite gift of all! LOL.

So, enough about birthday, my weekend was great when I finally got to see him and be around him. We all played aggravation and then we got to watch this cool TV show called Deadliest Warrior, it is pretty awesome! It takes two different warriors from completely different times and compares their fighting styles and weapons and sees who would have won in a battle! We watched about 4 episodes, and so far Spartan seems to be craziest since he could kill a Ninja!!! :-0   Oh, and also this weekend I got to go eat at Macaya’s after church, that was so yummy. I recommend that restaurant to anyone who enjoys Mexican food! I had fajitas, with shrimp, steak, and chicken. The meal was heavenly! <3

I hope everyone else had a fun weekend. I’m looking forward to next weekend already, but I am NOT looking forward to Wednesday! I have an economics Exam. This will either make or break my grade. I hope I can make it through it, and do well. I am afraid! But I am hoping to study with a tutor tomorrow! Wish me luck. And good luck to all those who have any tests or exams this week! Friday no school, so you can stick it through! Have a fun and safe week. Talk to you later!

School, Work, and my Trip to Lake Pleasant

Hey!

Hope everyone is still enjoying school! I am in love with it! I am having a great time in my classes, although I am starting to get confused in Economics. 🙁    But my business classes are fun and I enjoy my speech class, even though I am so nervous speaking in front of everyone. I even like my computer class since I hardly have to show up 😀   Work is going good at school, haven’t had too much time to go in since sorority and classes got overwhelming, but I’m trying to get back in there. I also have sad news about my sorority… I went through pinning and everything, and I cannot wait to join, but I do not have the funds to join this semester, so I am pending until next semester. To ensure that I have more money, I am going to either take just 4 classes or 3 classes and 2 online. It would help me save some money and still get the same credits and still get scholarships! 🙂

So, now that I am getting into this swing of school, I have had the chance to explore a little more, and two weekends ago my boyfriend, his family, and I went to Lake Pleasant and ate at Dillon’s Restaurant there. It was really fun and yummy!!!

As you can see these pictures are of Lake Pleasant and the Marina “scorpion bay”. We went down to the restaurant on this cool sideways elevator. And the sunset was the view we had at dinner. The picture of us is where we were as we ate, until the rain came in. lol. It was very beautiful and the dinner was so delicious! I would recommend going to Pleasant and eating there!

Oh and some cool news before I get going, my health insurance through AZ went through and my food stamps! I am so happy, since it is really hard to try to pay all these extra fees! I just hope I can start getting more work through school since costs are going up!

Well, have a great week and I’ll talk to you all later!
